My sister-in-law came and stayed with us for a few days. It was wonderful, and I don't just say that because I know she reads this. I like having people stay at our house, and I always hope their comfortable stopping by anytime they like. I wish we lived in a society that still participated in the "I just stopped by to say hi unannounced" slow motion kind of life. While she and the kids were here we did a LOT of shopping. We stopped by a store I didn't even know existed. Goodwill Outlet World. This is the stuff that, for whatever reason, didn't sell in 30 days at a normal Goodwill. It was an experience unlike any other. Giant bins are wheeled out every 30 minutes, people surround the bins, an employee yells "go", and everyone within reach begins to dig around for whatever they can find. We did not feel like getting mauled by the crowd, so we stuck to the less busy bins. But boy, oh boy, did I find some gems. Half a laundry basket of clothes just for James, some shirts for me and ben, a wall clock with temp and air pressure, and two canvas art pieces that will be easy to paint over in the colors I like. You pay by weight, so in all I only paid $15.
Ben and I had our first weekend away since we had James. We were invited by a coworker to attend Guitar Town festival in Copper Mountain. Jed and Denise watched James for us. He barely said goodbye to us when we left, and asked several times on the way home if we could go back to Nona and grandpas house.
Copper Mountain was really nice. It's a resort with mostly skiing and a small village shopping center. Bens coworkers parents own a condo up there, so we were able to share that with them. I'm not a blues fan, but it was fun to watch all the different talents.
So fun! Love that picture of James. He'd better sleep with one eye open 'cuz aunt Hez is gonna steal those lashes!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed our visit... I'm thinking we'll have another soon! :)
