things we've done

James was not too fond of the pool at first. But after a while he loved it.

Jenny and I visited an airplane museum near her house. James thought it was pretty fun. I'm trying to convince Ben that this plane would be totally worth it.

To and from Arizona, I drove through Tonto National Forrest. It reminded me of Eastern Oregon (Sisters area).

James spent a couple of nights sleeping on the floor. He doesn't like to sleep in his bed for some reason.

We got a annual family pass to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. James LOVES the space room. It's usually the busiest exhibit in the museum because it's the most interactive. Here he is is trying to dock a space shuttle as if it were really in zero gravity. It's very challenging!

The Discovery Zone at the museum is also a favorite room of ours. Lots of activities for small kids. This was James' first time trying any of the water tables. He had a fear of getting his clothes wet.

Ben and I went to Sports Authority Field for a lacrosse game. Ben played in high school, and was able to explain how the game is played. This picture was taken during the final minutes of the game when we were down near the field. We had tickets because Ben volunteered to be the military representative for a burrito eating competition. He ate 2.25 in 10 minutes, while the winner (a world champion in the food eating world) ate 28 in 10 minutes. Ben also got so sick, he was given a trash can to throw up in. How many people do you know who can say they barfed on a NFL football field?

So I started a "job". I am babysitting a boy from James' sunbeam class the first half of the week, His mom works nights at a sleep diagnostic clinic, and so she sleeps during the day.  I am typing this early on our first day, but so far so good. The boys are getting along really well.
It was so fun to have Heather here this past weekend. I don't really have any pictures that are any different than what she already posted on her blog. We did some things I had never done before, like go downtown and hike Waterton Canyon. If ya'll want to come visit, you're more than welcome to!

  1. Ouuuu, pictures of James with hair! Mom and I were wondering recently if his hair just never came in or if it was always buzzed. ;-) I had fun visiting you too!
