Minor Changes

We may yet still be able to go on base housing. I checked yesterday and we were 8/30. Down from 11 a couple days ago. So we are keeping our options open. We have the rental and an apartment to fall back on if after next week we haven't moved further down the line. My first pick is still to live on the base.

After talking with other wives at a spouses club get together, nearly all of them said they would not trade the safety and community of the base for any money they might save while living off base. I was advised to just stick it out in the temporary housing or find a month-to-month apartment and wait for something to come up on base.

It looks like we will be in this little room until January 21 at the latest. Our belongings can't be moved until then anyway. So don't mail anything to the address for the rental just yet!

  1. Hope everything works out the best for you guys! I remember growing up on Coast Guard base housing. It was fun and safe. We lived right on the Washington shoreline and had many adventures collecting beach wood and making tree houses in the nearby woods.
