I LOVE BEING MARRIED!
Time sure has flown by. I hardly know where it went. Benjamin and I have both been super busy. He hash is normal Air Force stuff and his engineering homework, and I'm taking a butt load of political classes and started my new job at The Daily Barometer. Things are looking pretty good right now.
Benjamin and I have had two of his friends over for dinner this week. His classmate Jay, and his high school buddy from Virginia, Jeff stayed at our place last night. It was fun to put together a "fancy" dinner for someone else. Next up for dinner: the families. Some have yet to see where Ben and I live.
I really like my political classes, especially my International Relations class. My professor, Dr. Below (that's pronounced Bay-low, it's German), is hilarious. She's good at getting the classes involved. When she asks a question, the class is excited to answer and join the discussion. I feel for teachers who just haven't developed that skill.
My US Government and Policies course is really fun as well. My teacher calls it the West Wing course, because almost every session we watch an episode to get an example of what we're discussing in class. Granted, my teacher knows how lefty the show is, but it sure does make it easier to remember what we talked about in class.
In my Political Thought course I'm currently writing my first essay of the term. We just finished reading The Trial and Death of Socrates. My teacher refuses to use textbooks, he wants us to read the real stuff, and I like that about him. My essay is on the similarities between Socrates and Christ, namely how they challenged the current way of thinking. Christ had the Pharisees, Socrates had the Sophists. Both also had resources and opportunities to avoid death and leave prison, yet chose to die despite their innocence. I hope my essay turns out alright.
Your classes sound awesome...and I love that you're reading real books. Fabuloso!
