I finally finished the book The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. Very interesting read, although hard to keep track of 16 main characters. I love books that have a twist at the end. My suspicions were right, I just wasn't sure how the book was going to accomplish them. I started this book last night, but it has no story to it whatsoever. It's Style by Kate Spade. The book details timeless fashion and is really more of a memoir of Kate Spades inspirations, everything from movies, book, and architecture. She shares it all and includes quotes from her rather humorous husband. Next read on my list: The Hunger Games. Kelly, I'm rarely disappointed in your taste of literature, I'm giving this one a try.

What else have I been up to? Hm.... cooking, and lots of it. Tonights menu will consist of chicken in dumplings. I had them in Utah at a members house with Seth and later found the recipe online. So tasty! And yesterday I made a treat with the intention of sharing for either our wards Break the Fast potluck or a Super bowl get together. But really I just made them for me.

Rice Crispy Peanut Butter Balls
3 cup Rice Krispies (I used Golden Grahams)
1 cup Peanut Butter
1 jar marshmallow cream
1 cup peanut better chips (I used chocolate chips)

mix together, form into balls, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

I think next time I will be sure to use Rice Krispies because I think the Golden Grahams added too much sweetness. But overall it's been delicious and hard not to grab one from the fridge every time I pass the kitchen.

I'm still volunteering for World's Children International and loving it. I am continually amazed at the children's letters and how good their penmanship is even at such a young age. My supervisor David is in India right now to check up on all the homes there. Communication with some of the homes if difficult and some things get lost in translation. He is checking up on the conditions there and making sure all the kids are doing fine. Some homes are really inconsistent about sending letters and photos and he wants to see what improvements can be made. David has a translator who works in India with several different charities such as UNICEF and has the experience and really cracks the whip on some places to get them organized.

So a little update about what will be going on in the future. I'm thinking Seth and I will be in Salt Lake City instead of Rexburg. He's already in school there and I'm pretty much open to anything. Here is a peek at our first choice for housing. These are the Marmalade Hill Apartments.

They are currently remodeling the apartments and this is going to be the finished product. I couldn't copy/paste or save the image for the floor plan, but it's pretty standard. Here is the map of where the apartments are located, and you can navigate around the site for more details. Heather, I think you will like that you can virtually decorate the floor plans on the website. I had fun moving around furniture to see what might look the best.

  1. Those apartment photos are nice!

I think you'll like The Hunger Games. Josh couldn't put it down. Good thing we had the second book on hand for him.

Another good one is "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaimon. Fun reads!
