So, my friends and I do some pretty random stuff. One night at FHE, a Jessie and I walk into a classroom to listen to our friends Erik and Elisse practicing a song that they wrote together. Somehow, it was suggested that we all write a Christmas Rap together. Erik could be at the piano, and we would all be wearing matching ugly Christmas sweaters. I get really excited about the idea, and when I got home I went straight to writing my verse of the rap. The beats are off a little, but here is how it goes:
I'm so real up on this beat you cant deny
When I hear the silver bells, I feel I can fly
Christmas spirit, is in the air
but the other elf's be hatin, I just don't care
Baking fruitcakes so fast you think I'm twitchin
and sewing mittens, yeah thats right i'm stitchin
Playing in the snow till our nose turns red,
but we know santa wont come till we rest our head
We be playing in the snow so white...(echo voice: “not yellow”)
and the lights on the house glisten so bright.... (so bright)
Rudolf has, a very shiny nose
and when the camera's show, he strikes a pose
check it our y'all check it check it out y'all
we gots grand master erik in the hizzouse! Pass the mic!
We wanted to perform it at our ward holiday dinner, but songs there must be spiritual is one way or another. Maybe for a talent show or just for fun we can make a music video.
Time for an update on boys! So, I had this date with a guy on November 7th, and it went great! We watch the third Indiana Jones. No awkward moments at all. We had our own recliners so there was never that "how close do I sit next to you" and there was never a weird reaching for the popcorn at the same time hand touch thing. I hate those. The following Tuesday he asked me to go to the Zoo with him and some other friends from the ward, but I had to babysit and I couldn't go, but I really wanted to. That Wednesday I called him! I asked if he wanted to grab some hot cider and then go to the ward activity together on Friday. So Friday comes along, he picks me up and I didn't want him to, but he payed for the cider. We stayed and talked for about 2 1/2 hours, completely missed the ward activity. So after all this, his family moves the following Monday. Bummers! He still doesn't have a phone, but I've talked to him on facebook everyday since he left. And there is a chance I might visit before Christmas. No DTR has taken place, but I think he and I are in silent agreement that two dates is not a solid foundation and his moving took place at a bad time. But I also think if we both really wanted things to work we could make it happen. We'll see.
Then there is this guy in my ward. He's an RM who served in Salt Lake. He and I talk a lot at the institute. He seems interested, but he recently broke up with his girlfriend of almost a year, and he might just be seeing what's out there. Which there is nothing wrong with that, I just hate feeling like I have to compete with all the girls in the ward. He did ask me to dinner at his apartment last week, but he invited one other guy and two girls who then brought their roommate with them. We'll see what happens. He and I hand out spur of the moment sometimes, but it never turns into a date. Like, I helped him pick out a beaver shirt before the Civil War game, and we went to A&W with some friends. Kevan keeps telling me to make a move and that Utah guy is, well, absent. But I get too shy and I'm not forward unless I know it's going to be reciprocated.
I've been thinking I would like to get more crafty. Better Homes and Gardens, and Women's Day have become favorite magazines of mine. I LOVE the designs of this website: http://www.makemynotebook.com/
And I love the bags from this site: http://www.sheilad.com/
I still need to start my craft project from before. I have all the supplies sitting on top of Moms sewing machine, its just setting aside time to work on it that needs to happen.
Thanksgiving was great! I love seeing all my family together. I haven't seen a lot of them is a very long time. This photo of Kenna from Shannon's birthday dinner cracks me up every time!
And what would the holidays be without the men falling asleep?
Just thought I would throw out there that I had to compete against all the girls in my ward for John. Guess who won! :)
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with a little competition. I'm lucky. My main competition (that Josh was prepared to propose to) dumped him! You never know!
