It's been a crazy crazy week.
I finally got around to sorting all the baby clothes that no longer fit James. Now I have several bags and boxes in my trunk that will go to Moms attic, or to Jenny's where they will wait for Kelly.
On Tuesday James and I had the lovely experience of sitting at the DMV for 45 minutes. All to literally, hand a piece of paper to the women and walk away. James was okay at first, and was fine reading on my lap. He dropped the lid to his bottle behind my chair. I didn't feel like I could just plop him on the floor without him running away, I couldn't reach behind the chair because it was against the wall, and I didn't want crawl on the floor with my bum in the air for everyone to see. So instead, I sent James under to retrieve it. He then stood up between the wall and my seat, but wanted to walk sideways between the wall and chairs to visit everyone else seated in our row, and play with the curtains. Eventually, I had to scoot a long row of chairs away from the wall so I could left James out. It does not make any sense to connect 6 chairs together!
After the DMV we headed downtown to the fountains. James had a blast. He doesn't like getting into the spouts, but he would stick his feet it. There were a few other babies around his age that he played with. We've been back several times.
Wednesday I called up Heather to see if she wanted to go to the playground near her house. It was hot outside. James and I enjoyed the walk, Keiran..... not so much.
July 4 we had a Pancake Breakfast at the church building. There was a glitch in the fire alarm system which resulted in a fire crew coming. They stuck around to eat with us. James loved watching the fire truck circle around the parking lot a few times with sirens and horns. He also got to pet quiet a few dogs. I love that he is not fearful of anything.
In the evening we headed over to Mom and Dad's for desert with Donna and Kim. It was really nice to see them again.
Friday was super hectic. My errand list looked a little something like this:
Philomath to drop off Stake Musical parade entry form
Heather's to find my cell phone (left it in the stroller)
Stop by Ben's work to give him cell phone he left at home
DHS office (we're doing food stamps for the next 3 months)
Post Office for stamps
Grocery store to get last minute items to feed the Missionaries tonight
Poor James hated being in and out of his car seat. I'm never really sure if I can leave him in there for a minute or two, but I almost always end up taking him out.
Yesterday we had our weekly Little Gym class. I love it. James was giving kisses to the other toddlers in his class. Mostly the kids just wander around while the parents are doing activities in a circle.
After a morning nap we all headed over to Nona Parmenters house. We're cleaning out the camper. We are no longer in the sanitation phase, and on to the function/prettying it up phase. We need to figure out exactly what we will be sleeping on. Currently there is no bed in there, and our King bed will not fit. James stayed to sleep over with Nona, and Ben and I wandered around Target last night and we're thinking the air mattresses aren't that expensive.
