On Board

I did something crazy.

I signed up with a Health Coach from Take Shape for Life.

It all started a while ago, even before I was pregnant. I knew to be at my ideal weight I would need to lose about 25-30 lbs. Then I got pregnant and gained a *few* pounds. Currently, I'm only a few pounds shy of when I was 9 months pregnant. Yesterday I went to get fitted for a new bra (thanks mom for babysitting!). Count it as one of my most embarrassing moments. I hated getting measured. Just a few minutes after returning home, Heidi called me! Call it coincidence, or call it being led by the Spirit, it was what I needed.

I've been in contact with Heidi Neuffer before. She's awesome, and I've worked with her on church committees. I just never could commit to the program. I don't know why. I've seen many examples of people I know losing weight through Take Shape for Life and keeping it off for years. One my friends from the College Hill ward lost 70 lbs! Why didn't I do this before?

Now I'm all in. I'm SOOOOO ready to feel good again. I'm ready to have energy to play with James and do things together as a family.

So here goes!

  1. :) :) :) Good for you! If you need someone else to help keep you accountable, I'm in.My one piece of advice is jogging stroller. For several reasons. #1 you can get out and exercise whenever you want. 2: because you are pushing something while you walk or run it counts as 1.5 times the exercise. :) 3: your kids see you make working out a priority and they are much more likely to do it themselves and make a lifelong habit of it. Exercise should be a family habit.
I know jogging strollers are expensive, but I'm sure you can get a good deal on a slightly used one either at a thrift store of craigslist

This is one of my favorite sites.I also follow them on facebook and twitter. They are awesome!!! A lot of moms have their kids ride their bikes while they run when they get old enough. Anyhow they give me motivation to keep running because I feel like I'm not alone.

Anyhow, I am super excited for you! (can you tell?!)

    Love ya!
