Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

School starts next week! My schedule is going to get CRAZY! I have school all day on Monday's. No breaks between classes from 8am-6pm. NONE, ZIP, NADA! I'll be riding with Ben either on the motorcycle or in the car. I guess it depends on the weather. But on Tuesday's and Thursday's I don't have any school, so I can stay home and work on homework or run errands. Feel free to call me to hang out those days :)

Ben is busy all this week doing New Student Orientation (NSO) for the Air Force ROTC. He's in charge of the whole operation. I wont see him hardly at all this week.

We did get a puppy about two weeks ago, but sadly, we had to return him to his previous owners. Cody was just not getting settled. He cowered in fear every time someone came near him. Poor dog. He's almost 7 months old and never really been off the farm where he was born. HE was scared to death of his surroundings. He probably felt like he had been kidnapped. Ben took him back and said that Cody was so excited to be back. Someday I'll have a dog.....

But there is a kitten available for us! Ben's sister-in-law has a coworker who has one free kitten left.

Jed is doing well in Afghanistan. He's getting tired of staying in the villa all day. When he goes outside he needs a security guard with him. Jed is a open outdoors kind of guy, so being inside is frustrating to him. He's making some evaluations and switching up headquarters a bit, so it will be easier to get around.

Ben and I are all moved in! Everything we don't need is locked up in a trailer on the property. We're still waiting for our church records to follow us to the new ward, but we're expecting to be getting callings soon. Bishop was asking me how long he can expect us to be around, I know what that means ;)

We're pretty much settled. It was harder transition for me (I miss some of my kitchen appliances), but I'm doing so much better now that we have a schedule and I know basically what I'm expected to do.

I do like the opportunity I have to get to know Denise a lot more. She's a very spiritually uplifting person and always has wonderful insight. She's a great communicator and even though I was skeptical at first about the whole Color Code thing, I've watched her put it into action and even used it a bit myself. It's not a "this is how you are and I've got you figured out" kind of thing. I didn't want to be pinpointed that way. What it does do is help you to understand why you do what you do versus simply what you do. I can definitely see how I can use it in my job as I talk to clients, or when I'm a mother and teaching children. I will need to know what drives them. How can I motivate my kids in school or ? I love going to Denise's family/couple workshops. I know some of my sisters have taken the online test before, but just a reminder of what each of the colors means:
  • RED (Motive: POWER)—These are the power wielders. Power: the ability to move from point A to point B and get things done, is what motivates and drives these people. They bring great gifts of vision and leadership and generally are responsible, decisive, proactive and assertive.

  • BLUE (Motive: INTIMACY)—These are the do-gooders. Intimacy: connecting, creating quality relationships and having purpose, is what motivates and drives these people. They bring great gifts of quality and service and are generally loyal, sincere, and thoughtful.

  • WHITE (Motive: PEACE)—These are the peacekeepers. Peace: the ability to stay calm and balanced even in the midst of conflict, is what motivates and drives these people. They bring great gifts of clarity and tolerance and are generally kind, adaptable, and good-listeners.

  • YELLOW (Motive: Fun)—These are the fun lovers. Fun: the joy of living life “in the moment”, is what motivates and drives these people. They bring great gifts of enthusiasm and optimism and are generally charismatic, spontaneous, and sociable.

I'm totally sold on The Color Code. I'm hoping to set up a workshop at The Barometer.

So that's pretty much what's going on for us right now.
