Pictures

Ben and I went to a hike with members of his Squadron. We hiked Spencer's Butte just south of Eugene. It's 1.2 miles up, and then again down. Towards the top you start to climb rocks, but I made it to the top.

Now for some pictures of the apartment!

The Kitchen!
On the right is the doorway to our bedroom, and on the left is the entry into the Family room. Behind me is the bathroom and James' room.

The vanity in the bathroom.
Further into the bathroom is a door with the shower and toilet. I love with bathrooms are separated so that one person can be in the shower and the other using the mirror without everything getting steamed up.

I'm on the lookout for a new vacuum. I just spent an hour scraping off peas and blueberries off my floor after watching kids. It's good practice for me, since I have a VERY LOW tolerance for kid messes. But all my vac did was smear the peas onto the wood floor. Not a single pea got sucked up. I checked my settings, checked the bag, and tried using the hose (which has never stayed connected anyway). Since none of that worked, I picked and scraped by hand. My current vacuum came from Dad's office. No wonder he gave it to me for free. It was in his back storage unit for who knows how long. Probably one of his "I'll fix it someday" projects.
So if anyone has any recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated.

  1. We've got one in our storage unit that we'll just give you. I keep meaning to fix it, but...

  2. Oh my goodness, I just bought a vacuum on Saturday! Weird. I had exactly enough in gift-cards with BB&B's 20% off coupon to get what I wanted... a Shark Liftaway professional. It's rating very high by consumers. It's basically a Dyson knock-off and I am IN LOVE! I totally recommend it (The lavender one is even less expensive and works exactly the same, just smaller dirt cup) However, if you want our old vacuum and see if you can fix it, you're welcome to it. I'm not sure what to do with it yet. The hose/hard floor attachment is working fine, but the base part with the brushes isn't sucking, which sucks ;-)

  4. Your apartment is adorable!!
Vacuums are hard to shop for... they either work great or not at all. Hope you find something! We love our Shark Navigator lift-away. It is little and does a great job! Ours came from Amazon, but you can find them at BBB.
