You Might Be A Redneck

A friend on facebook posted this in his status. Being the wife of a true Montana boy, and loving gun rights even before that, I have strong opinions on this. The right to bear arms is clearly stated as a right in the Constitution, if as members of the LDS church we believe in the divinity of the Constitution, then that must mean as members we need to understand our right to bear arms.

‎- A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.
- Gun control is not about guns, it is about control.
- If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words.
- If you don't know your rights, then you don't have any.
- 64,999,987 firearm owners killed no one yesterday.
- An armed man is a citizen, an unarmed man is a subject.
- You don't shoot to kill, you shoot to stay alive.
- Criminals love gun control, it makes their jobs safer.
- When you remove people's right to bear arms, you effectively create slaves.
- The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control.
- Those who trade liberty for security have neither.

And one of my favorite Founding Fathers:
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
