Baby Books

Alright all you mommies, I need some good baby books to read. What are you favorite books for moms-to-be and what books were life savers for you?

So far I'm really enjoying my Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy and my Baby Bargains book.

I'm thinking I'll look over this Cooking For Baby book when baby starts eating solids.

Little update: I'm still not really that sick. I've have some minor puking moments, but only twice so far. I heard   your hormones go a little crazy at the end of you first trimester, making you a sicker before you get better. I guess I'm one of those ladies. But overall, I've been SO THANKFUL I haven't been all that sick.

  1. Happiest Baby on the Block, by Dr. Harvey Karp; Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child, by Marc Weissbluth.

The first is a phenomenal way in looking at how to comfort your baby and make their first foray into the world an easy transition. The second has the best sleep schedules ever, and is so helpful in terms of knowing just how much sleep your kid needs at all ages. These are the two books I recommend to everyone.

  2. I agree with Kelly. I read both those books and they helped immensely. The only thing I would add is that the happiest baby book is helpful for the first 3 months of baby's life, and the sleep book starts being helpful after 3 or 4 months. That's when you can start sleep training. The what to expect book I didn't really find helpful until the end of my pregnancy. I think the beginning of preg is just business as usual. Eat healthy and walk as much as you can. You don't need a book to tell you that.

  3. Hmmm, I wrote a reply shortly after this post, but it isn't showing. Anyway, I think I told you that I have a Pregnancy, Week by Week book for you to borrow. I liked this book because I got to read every week instead of every month. :-)
