Oh Dear....

I would LOVE to do this, just because I can.

Thanks, Josh, for sharing this video.

And on another note. I'm on a education high right now. I frequently look around at the students in my classes and immediately spot the students who really don't want to be there, and who I absolutely do not wanted to be partnered with for class assignments. For example: the constant texter, or the guy in my business class who chews tobacco during class. Yes, that's right, he keeps an empty water bottle in hand to spit in. NASTY. These kids are not paying attention. Instead, they are focused on their friends drama or the flavor of their chew. What a waste of tuition money.

Then I came across this article from a Utah State professor, and my suspicions were confirmed.  Here's a few little excerpts.

This one is from a student evaluation at the end of the term:
“In all honesty the instructor needs to understand the education system today and not live in the standards that she once held for students back in the good days of the education system. … come down to the level of the students rather than be held on a pedalstool of being a professor… .”

And the professors closing statement at the end of the article:
I wonder, what is “an acceptable level of ignorance” in our society when students dictate how much they don’t want to learn and we appease them by lowering our standards. I won’t do it! The main reason is students themselves, those who complained but also said “thank you” for pushing them hard.
