Because I did not get a chance to fully enjoy General Conference, I have begun watching them online one talk at a time. Before I go to bed I sit with my computer and watch just one talk. It's proven to be an uplifting way to end my day.

Our stake president challenged us to read the Book of Mormon this year. That coupled with reading for my 2-3 institute classes amounts to a LOT of scripture reading. And our ward is having a "bring a friend to church day." I would really like to invite someone, but who and how are proving to be difficult problems to find solutions to. I don't hang out with very many non members and how do you extend that invitation?

So my best guy friends all moved into a house together. It's so much fun to go out there to hang out with them. It surprisingly hasn't turned into as much of a party house as I thought it would. They almost always have some people over, and I've been there almost every night to watch movies and talk.

School is kicking my butt. Math is SO hard. I thought I knew how to do log functions, but apparently everything I thought I knew is either wrong or completely reversed. And when we do reviews I don't have a clue what the teacher is talking about, and this is supposed to be stuff I learned a lot time ago. Writing is okay. It's just a long process, not particularly difficult. Writing instruction manuals is definitely not my cup of tea.

That's been about it for now. My volunteering is going well. My "boss" told me I will be working with a new volunteer tomorrow. He seems really concerned that I have been working by myself in the basement and thinks I need company. I have no started my sewing project yet, hopefully I will get around to that soon. I keep seeing cute shoulder bags and thinking that I should start mine pronto.

  1. You are one busy lady! See if you can get in touch with a really good math tutor-it might just be really worth it.
    Love ya!

  2. Second the math tutor suggestions. I had a hard time with a particular college math class at BYU. Even though the teacher (who was also in my ward!) kept reminding us of her office hours I was feeling too stupid to even ask for help. "Hello, My name is Kelly and I'm a math idiot". ;-) But by the end of the semester I was wishing I'd done it because I had to go to a required thing with my teacher and she explained something to me...and I realized...I could have gotten a lot more out of this class if I hadn't been such a weirdo.

So there's your learn-from-my-mistake lesson of the day.

On other topics - don't you love conference? I started watching/reading the talks. But then I got the great idea to have Josh download them onto my phone for me. But it's not working (works on his phone...just not mine), so I haven't listened to any recently.

    Love ya!!!
